Congratulations: This Magic Infrared Photo is one of the Best of the Affiliates November Contest Magic Trees! It is featured here -->> [link] RUNNERS UP Commendations by the Jury! You made a really good job!
I'm not sure, but I think it's a California Laurel, a fairly common riparian tree where I'm based. This tree is on a very small island in a lake that flooded this spring. The lake is in an unused area on Beale Air Force Base, of all places, north of Sacramento in central California.
This photo is taken with IR light, which acts a little differently from visible light especially where foliage is concerned, it gives it a sort of otherworldly quality.
Swift, Hope that's what you wish to be called? I kept coming back to this one whilst viewing your galleries, I've found when I do that there's a reason. This time there is a feeling of sheer "magic" to this. I would implore you to submit it to more clubs your photography warrants a larger audience. Thanks for sharing this inspirational shot. Simon
Yup. Swift is my first name (my mother is either a creative soul or guano-psychotic, depending on your outlook) and what I go by, at least in the civilian world. Thank you for your thoughts and suggestion, seems I'll have to do a bit of spamming outside of just the IR groups.
Thanks again. Your comments have been rays of sunshine in a generally cloudy time for me.
